I am not entirely thrilled with the middle school, especially with our guidance counselor, whom we will have for 3 years, as the follow the class. Initially, I was impressed with the orientation from 5th grade and the assurances given regarding the children, but honestly, I feel like they just drop them in the deep end. Communication with teachers and counselor is difficult and unproductive. I had to cite the law in order to get what I needed for my child. I had one interaction with the principal and was impressed with his immediate attention to the matter and the resolution provided. I think the curriculum is adequate. Disappointing to say the least, given the supposed reputation of Dartmouth education.
